This should address #1 and #8

Tested local using latest stable Chrome.

Hey @yanxiangw! Long time no see!

I'm going to give this a quick test on Firefox, and if that goes according to plan, I'll do a manifest update and roll out the release :)

Smells good to me, will merge to main first, do a few doc updates, and roll a release as soon as I can!
