Windows 7 can't start web server #481

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

I'm trying to start remote web server from Options -> Remote Web Server -> Run,
but after clicking the correct menu button menu closes but the web service is
not started (also the "v" is missing in menu).

Version 0.5.1 Beta in Windows 7 Enterprise 32bit.

No crash. No logs. Please provide details in case you need more information
from me, thanks. I can run debugger if needed.

Can you try once more with the latest alpha version?

Some issues have been fixed / changed. If it is still not working and you have
access to the debugger you could try and see what goes wrong in the method
StartHTTPListener in Utilities/HttpServer.cs

Confirmed that I have same problem with 0.5.1.16-alpha and cause for the
problem was UAC. Probably OHM should output error dialog when running with
non-administrator account at least when user is enabling features, which does
not work with regular user permissions. This issue can be closed.

Just a note, I do have the web server running on Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. I'm
currently able to access OHM exactly as expected globally via my Dynamic DNS
setup.
