2 years ago Close this. I have it working now. Had to find one of your older guides that only dealt with the klicky-probe.cfg file only and then bounced into current for the parts I needed. I have to wonder if a static how-to for each printer would have been easier.
Spent two weeks reading this guide and decided last night to execute. I have had a voron 2.4 350 for over a year now and I am unable to complete this guide. I do not know gcode and dont expect I will. Would have executed earlier but the way this guide is written is like a scavenger hunt. Takes several passes before one knows what to omit. Get as far as the gcode commands but they dont locate the print head anywhere near the dock mount on a 350mm. The plastic parts seem off as the part that is attached to the print head crashes into the part on the dock mount forcing the whole assembly down 10-15mm. Yes, it's adjusted up all the way in the print head. Something will break after a few uses based on how far this flexes after impacting the mount. This is static as it mounts to the gantry. Using purge bucket and just held the non purge bucket part up next to and there is a height difference. Looks like I have to not use a purge bucket to get the correct height. Crap. Would have been a lot easier if this was a static guide on one page (with all extra reading links at the bottom). This reads like a reddit post. Would have been better if it read like a wiki. gcode commands that didnt need interpretation as I dont have the needed knowledge. Was able to get x and y homed but once I told it to use 100, 100 for safe z axis firmware wouldnt restart. No indications as to why. If it won't start logs don't reveal. Although I know where to look as I have 20 years experience with linux and can build a kernel without issue this guide is not able to be completed as it stands without intimate knowledge of gcode. Reformatting SD card and going back to magnetic probe. STL for purge bucket dock mount looks to be the reason for the crashing as it has delta in height compared to non purge bucket gantry dock part. FYI. Thanks for the effort.
