Names are hard to find, and we tend to use puns/clever tricks to find names. Mercurial/cinnabar, yay.

Anyways, I started a project ~2 years ago, that is a remote helper for git, to talk to mercurial servers. Guess its name? "git-cinnabar". Some people like to call it "cinnabar", although I don't.

It would, imho, be better if we could avoid the confusion of having two mercurial-related projects with (almost) the same name...

Sure, fine. That can be discussed if this becomes usable enough to grab a name on crates.io.

Some ideas: amalgam, hydragyrum, minamata.

Amalgam has the nice "rust"/"metal" connotation. Even better would be montroydite, but not many folks know that name.
