Can't open the Zotfile preferences panel #581

When I click on the option to open the Zotfile preferences panel, nothing happens. This comes up on the Error Console.

The Zotero version is 6.0-beta.1+c6d03753f. My system is an M1 running macOS Monterey 12.2.

@yhmtsai 's fix in PR #595 indicates the soruce of the problem and the temporary solution until #595 is merged:

The problem occurs when Zotero's main window was closed with Cmd+W, hereby closing the window but not the app, then the window reopened.
Solution: fully quit Zotero with Cmd+Q, then reopen it. Zotfile's preferences can now be opened.
