sam here - also the update message is gone. does look like that there is no update anymore. maybe because of i still use small business. Seems i might need to change to their new tiers.....

Hello I tried to build the 11.3.1 release by myself but I get an error could not load service 'CrashPlanEngine': could not load 'respawn': command failed (126) when I start container

toxiroxi commented 2 months ago

Hello jlesage, is there any chance that you can help us with an actual build? that would be highly appreciated. Thanks for all your efforts!

jlesage commented 2 months ago

Hello,

Yes, I didn't forget 🙂 The new version is using a new login mechanism that requires a browser. This is something I'm trying to avoid and I'm almost done with that. There is also a new version, 11.4, that has been released recently. It should simplify things a little bit in other areas.

Finally, note that the current version is still fully supported by CrashPlan, so backup of your data is not affected.

andres-asm commented 2 months ago

11.4 seems to big huge performance improvements, it would be great to have https://www.reddit.com/r/Crashplan/comments/1e6mv7c/sudden_performacen_increase/

jlesage commented 2 months ago

Image with CrashPlan 11.4.0 now available.

I apologize if this is not an appropriate place to ask this question...

My Synology is running CrashPlan 11.2.1.23. It is not trying to update CrashPlan and seems to be continuing to do backups. That surprises me, since it usually blocks once there is a new version available. Am I missing something? Should I be updating to 11.4.0 using the new image, or can I wait (possibly skipping one or more updates and saving time...)

Many thanks!

I guess that at some point, older versions will stop to work, but I have no control on this. So if the backup continue to work, I assume you are ok with the version you are running :)

DavidLaidlaw commented 2 months ago

Wow, thanks for the super fast response. Makes sense.

And, of course, thank you for doing the amazing service to keep CrashPlan updated! I can't tell you how much I appreciate it!

Cheers
