How to update successfully from Mojave to Catalina #47

as described could you please advice me how to successfully update my mojave to catalina as I corrupted my previous install by just upgrading using software update

Make sure to remove all custom kexts from /Library/Extensions (and have them in your EFI instead). Make a USB Stick as backup with installer + your clover folder. Update using Software Updater.
