Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation Ethernet Connection I217-LM (rev 04)
Hello @Arkheon , How did you create the USB for booting macOS? From a real mac or not?
hello @swanux
i used this script on ubuntu : https://github.com/notthebee/macos_usb
Not from a real mac
Okay then. Good news: the problem is already solved!
I had some hard times at the beginning with this (used the same script at the first time) as it never worked on Catalina.
The problem is the following: for some reason when you write the USB from a PC (not a mac) it only writes the online installer, even though it downloads the full offline installer. Why? Good question, haven't figured out yet. Why ethernet won't work? Because in catalina recovery it's disabled.
Solutions:
The trick is, that you need a "driver" (kext in macOS) which's loaded on boot and supports USB tethering. For the exact steps you can follow my guide here. If you would like to use your EFI not mine, then don't forget to add HoRNDIS.kext from my repo to your config (also in this case you can jump to install instructions in readme).
I hope this helps for those who have the same problem.
@swanux Thanks for your quick reply :)
I'll try your solution
thank you very much 👍
You're welcome! If you have further questions, feel free to ask.
Everything is OK , i managed to install MacOS :)
Hello , @jloisel I think you should add in your FAQ this kind of issue . During my research, i encountered many people with the same pb, and nobody had a clue how to solve this .
Again tyvm @swanux for your help and your instructions in your repo 💯 🥇

I'm glad I could help @Arkheon ! Have fun with your new hackintosh!
Hello ,
Fairly new to the hackintosh community i tried to install MacOS on my T440P with no success ...
Im stuck just after cliking on "reinstall MACOS" > " an internet connection is needed for installing macOS"
I tried with ethernet plugged and dont work either ...
Any idea ?
