VGA doesn't work and will likely never work because there aren't any Apple devices that support VGA. You're better off using a Mini-DisplayPort to VGA adapter.
I recommend miniDP, works perfectly for me.
hi,i bought an adaptor miniDP to hdmi but still don't work, I'm using Big Sur now.
I bought this cheap one off of Amazon. Im running BigSur and just testing mine and it works perfectly. I am using OpenCore however so that may be the difference. Hadn't checked display port until this morning when I saw your post.
thanks for the reply, I followed you guide and it's perfect but every time I connect the cable the monitor it is't revealed. what can I do? should I update come kext?
I don't think updating kexts is the issue. If you followed my guide... that is exactly the setup I have. I haven't made any changes to my setup at all. I used my mini DP to HDMI to connect to a 1080P screen. It took a second to sync up but then it was there in mirroring mode. Are you trying to output to a higher resolution monitor? If so, I am happy to try to output to a similar monitor that I have. I can say that 1080P works though.
ok thank, I will try to reinstall copying your same efi folder and just editing the config file. thank you
edit. I just added itlwm kext and I don't think this can cause the problem.
I'll update you later
Your miniDP port works in linux/windows?
it works!
hi, when i connect my second monitor to the vga port the display turn on and then goes in energy saving mode. in preferences>settings it isn't detected.
