Hi Speckle-Eng,

I am from acqops-dba team. We are currently evaluating Cloud SQL and prepare
for future Acquired Products on-boarding or migration from GOLO to Cloud need.

I created an testing Cloud SQL instance and seeing sql_mode and
innodb_strict_mode are not enabled by default.

I don't see it is one of the option in the new flags during the DB instance is
created.

I also tried even root user can't change that for a running instance.
(i understand root doesn't have super)

With our experience dealing with some acquired legacy MySQL databases, it is
very hard to fix the data, test out application and enable them on the later
stage to make sure data integrity on the databases which we need to manage...

we recommend Cloud SQL should enable sql_mode and innodb_strict_mode by default.

Just wondering if this is already in the road map, when that could be available
if it is.

Thanks!
Jinping
