what mechanism is used to trigger an entity to join a clan?
As a clan gets bigger, the specific requirements go down.
I.e. to join Urist's Bandits, lead by Urist the Orc, if you are an Orc, you have a LOT higher chance to join. i.e. Urist's primary clan is Orc, so orc's stand together.
When the clan turns into The Bleeding Edge, certain attributes of the clan will be emphasized. i.e. high kills and emphasis on axes. Means any entity who fits that description will have a higher chance to join, even if it's not an orc.
when the clan turns into the Empire, the bar to entry is a lot lower. maybe something as basic as alignment or size or something else. (I'm still not even sure that this last one needs to exist).
The idea is, by the end, there's fewer clans, but stronger.
