Incorrect CPU temperature showing #148

I have just started using Open Hardware Monitor and it's just what I've been 
looking for.  I really like the gadget feature.

I noticed that after a few hours of use the CPU temp jumps from around 57C to 
88C?  There's no way it's that hot and it's never done that before.  All the 
ohter reading seem OK.

I'm also using ASUS's AI Suite which shows the CPU/motherboard temps and fan 
speeds.  This also shows the high CPU temp.  It also shows that fan 3 and the 
power fan (which are not used) are running at 41rpm?  There are no fans 
attached and never have been.  This only started happening after I installed 
Open Hardware Monitor, before that the unused fans where at 0rpm.

I have an ASUS P5B Deluxe motherboard with an Intel CPU 3.06ghz
I'm using v0.2.1 Beta of Open Hardware Monitor

The ASUS AI Suite and the Open Hardware Monitor can produce wrong readings when 
you run both at the same time, because the access to the Winbond W83627DHG 
mainboard chip is not synchronized. Reboot your system and try to run only the 
Open Hardware Monitor or only the ASUS AI Suite and see if the problem still 
occurs.

I uninstalled ASUS AI Suite and Open Hardware Monitor seemed to be working ... 
for a while.� But now it shows my CPU is running hot again.
The ASUS software always worked fine on its own.
Open hardware Monitor shows a high CPU temp even when it's the only thing 
monitoring temps.

Is there something like an "ACPI driver for ATK0110" installed on your system 
(maybe check in device manager)? If there is, then its very likely that this 
driver (or others) are accessing the Winbond W83627DHG as well, causing again 
these conflicts. In that case it would be best not to use the Open Hardware 
Monitor. At least until there is a special ATK0110 device driver in the Open 
Hardware Monitor.

You're right. Under System Devices in the Device Manager is ATK0110 ACPI 
Utility.

v0.6.0 still has this issue - any progress with that driver?

I also got similar problem,hardwere monitor shows my processor temp 63 degree 
celcius ,but i reboot the system and go to bios menu its shiows 43 degree 
celcius.
