Hello 👋! As a wildlife biologist in the MML-AEP, I'm a long-time listener, first time caller...
After many years of being exposed to GitHub I'm hoping this time it'll take and be a useful tool to add more discipline to versioning and data flow. Thanks @jmlondon for shepherding! Do I have to have a fave marine mammal, there's pros and cons with all of them, so let's go with the Steller's sea monkey or ape, which is begging for more study. Favorite fish? Also hard to nail down - let's go with any kind of North Pacific salmonid - huge importance to the ecosystems and societies, and oh-so-tasty too.
Hi there! I have been avoiding GitHub for quite some time but I am excited to learn how it can be a useful tool to improve work flows, reproducibility and collaborations. I am probably supposed to say that harbor seals are my favorite marine mammal but I am going to have to go with sea otters! I know they certainly aren't cuddly but they sure are cute, not to mention a very important keystone speceis. My favorite 🐟 to eat is halibut...does that count?
Thank you @jmlondon for getting the ball rolling here and @nancycyoung for keeping the MML SARS team organized!
Greetings and salutations! I was exposed to GitHub years ago when working with our program's former biostatistician, Jeff Laake. Unfortunately, I did not make it a habit to use this incredible tool; just like not practicing a foreign language, I did not become fluent/proficient at using GitHub and have forgotten many of its useful features. I'm looking forward to the training and implementing the use of GitHub in my daily work. My favorite marine mammal? That's a tough question. I'll go with the blue whale. Humpback whales and Steller sea lions are definitely in my top 5. Favorite fish? Probably a tie between the whale shark and sea horse.
Congrats to @BFadely , @erinrichmond , and @Tony-Orr for filing their first issue. @Tony-Orr got so excited he even closed the issue. Don't worry, @Tony-Orr , most everything in github can be undone!
Congrats on filling out your first Issue! 🎉
I've been using GitHub since 2014 but learning new things about how to collaborate with it all the time. My favorite marine animal has to be humboldt squid, my PhD thesis topic
I wanted to click on that big green button soooo bad, thanks @Tony-Orr for taking one for the team!
Hello! Github is completely new to me - and feeling a bit overwhelmed with all of the messages coming in but finally trying to get on board here - an hour before our second meeting - oops. But I'm excited to learn what we can do here to help communication and workflows with our groups. Favorite marine mammal - it's predictable, but I have to say ribbon seal. And favorite fish? So many but I think rockfish are pretty cool
Welcome to the Trophic-SARS github repository. Feel free to practice commenting on an issue by offering a brief introduction to yourself and letting us know what your favorite marine mammal and favorite fish are. Bonus points to those who include a photo of their favorites in the comment
