I've merged this in my fork, I'm merging everything that works and doesn't change the game too much.

That fork looks promising :)

Recently I'm more interested in creating and distributing complete static binaries using something like musl libc rather than docker these days. I'd be willing to help create such a thing if you're going to continue maintaining the PacVim fork.

(Your fork has issue tracker turned off, so there's no place to talk about this, so I'm commenting here)

Thanks for the heads up, I turned on issues. I have no idea what the difference would be, but it would be cool if this could get shipped easier than having to compile on each machine. Is pacvim shipped on any linux distributions by default?
