That's an interesting idea, although I'm still a bit hazy on how that would actually work. Currently when selecting a track, it starts playing immediately. I'm guessing you'd want that to stay that way, then have your Next Up queue, and then the regular queue based on the mix from the track you selected?
Also, there's a option to restore any* previous queue, you can find it in the sidebar > "Restore Now Playing". That will also restore the Next Up queue, so that you don't have to start from scratch if you misclick!

Yes, exactly that :)

Oh, great! I was not aware of this, thanks for pointing that out. That solves 80% of my use cases. The remaining would be when I am making a Next Up-queue, and want to play from another album / playlist following that queue (and did not make sure it was the regular queue beforehand). I know I can add an entire album or playlist to queue, but that retains the old regular queue which I then would have expected to be erased. If I then add it to the regular queue, whatever was in it will be played before it. If I add it to the Next Up-queue, whatever was in the regular queue will be then still be played after.
It is a minor issue, just my subjective expectation of how it should behave.
Current behavior is that the Next Up-queue is reset if you start playback from a song. For my fat fingers, that often becomes a problem because I end up misclicking and starting a song when I am building up a queue, and I have to start all over.
In my opinion, a better behavior is that the Next Up-queue is retained when changing a song (so that only the secondary queue changes), and that the user instead manually clears the Next Up-queue if that was the intention (as that option is already readily available from the queue view).
