I would prefer your widget in replacement for original slider, but there's one little graphics issue:
Chosing f.e. Smarthome classic Icon "light" or "slider" (dynamic Icons) as a backdrop Icon, it should at least use 2 existing "svg-stages" i.e. white (slider-0) and yellow light bulb (slider-100) graphics as OFF/ON as described in https://www.openhab.org/docs/configuration/items.html#icons
