Amazon API access not (no longer?) allowed for this purpose #3

This plugin is a really nice idea, but unfortunately I wasn't able to use it, as Amazon appear to now require that you 1) sign up as an affiliate, and 2) agree to a license stipulating that the API is not to be used for applications which "do not have as their principal purpose advertising and marketing the Amazon Site and driving sales of products and services on the Amazon Site".

To avoid future people spending time attempting to set this up, and then ultimately being blocked by the API licensing restrictions, it would be a good thing for this project's README.md to explain that it's no longer reasonably possible to get API access.

Correct me if I am wrong. The reason this plugin does not work is because you did not accept the licensing stipulations of Amazon? What this plugin does for me is everytime I get the right tags for a cd, it prints Amazon on my screen. So that is free advertising, hoping that by seeing how good Amazon is, my next cd purchase will be from them. Does this not follow the stipulations? That is the primary function of the plugin for me. The secondary function is that in the background it tags your cd but that is just a magician's trick to hide the real purpose of the plugin: show you how good Amazon is so you buy more stuff from them. I don't know if it works for you but if I look at my monthly visa card I can see that I have been... " driving sales of products and services on the Amazon Site" as stipulated in their license. But maybe indeed I should mention that you should buy stuff from Amazon in the readme. But then again as the saying goes: all the advertising can lead the donkey to the water but it can't make him drink. Nevertheless I can not return you your time that you put in this but let's hope that future people may learn from our experiences. It's Sunday and it's springtime down here. Hope you have a lovely day too.
