Cumbersome login page (extra information mentioned) #255

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?

1. Integrated the socialauth in our android application
2. Run the application
3. Login page appears
4. There is a message from socialauth that we don't want our users to see

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

A simple login page instead of socialauth messages

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Android 2.3.3

Please provide any additional information below.

Hi Usman,

Can you please let me know what you mean by message from socialauth. You can
use your own keys to show your name instead of socialauth.

please provide detail and also the provide name which you are looking to access.

The issue is not the name of the App, but the message.

In case of LinkedIn:

"The SocialAuth" (App name) would like to access some of your personal
information"

In case of Facebook:

1. There is advertisement to get face book for Android
2. The sentence that login to use your Facebook account with SocialAuthDemo

We think it is a very scary message. Users will think they are giving right to
someone to access any of their information. Off course the user is logging in
so it is obvious they are getting access to their account by the application.
But this message sounds like someone other than user will have access to the
Linked-In profile information. Also the word Demo in case of facebook looks
bad.

How can we get rid of these messages as they are coming from server side.

Thanks.

Create a new application in your linkedin account and use the keys for that
account. Then it will show your app name instead of SocialAuth. This is default
screen for linkedin.

In case of Facebook:

1. There is advertisement to get face book for Android
not possible

2. The sentence that login to use your Facebook account with SocialAuthDemo
same solution as linkedin

Also use the latest sdk available at
https://code.google.com/p/socialauth-android/

Is there anyway possible to change default screen or the message in that
default screen.

I am using Social-Hub App in my Samsung Galaxy 2, Android 2.3.3, there I can
sign in to both Linked-In and Facebook without going to default login screens
of linkedin and facebook.
