error: device not found

I installed openvpn and installed azilink on my phone and i have the drivers 
installed, i can use other programs like pdanet, easytether, and Tether. For 
some reason when i type in the cmd prompt for port forwarding i get device not 
found. Anyone run into this issue before?

I am getting this error too, within the last few days, starting just after a 
visit to a Verizon store where a staff person had my phone (fingers moving 
frantically over the touch screen while I waited for 3 minutes).  I checked the 
Android version, and it doesn't look to have been updated (it's 2.2.2 and this 
is not the most recent version, right?).  I checked the Wireless & Networking 
settings and they look unchanged other than a new tethering option, which I 
left unchecked (apparently turning it on causes my (connected) laptop to see it 
as a wifi port, to which I was unable to get to work).

I've tried rebooting laptop, rebooting phone, reconnecting USB connection... no 
success.
