Atmel flip doesn't start up error code 2 #24

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Running atmel flip
2.Got latest version of java RTE
3.Atmel flip does not start: "an error with error code 2 occurred" on startup, 
won't go further after this

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
running atmel flip...

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
3.4.7 on windows 8.1

Please provide any additional information below.

Well, seems there are more people with this problem, a fix should be to run an 
older windows version in a virtual environment.
My wife has some antique laptop with vista, and FLIP runs on that like a charm.
Will keep you posted.

Well, solved the problem by loading a virtual machine.
It simply means running another version of windows on your system.
I installed XP, since i don't need network access for this job.
Seems this is a common issue for windows 8 users 64bit.

Running a virtual machine is child's play, see this link. hope this helps 
people experiencing the same issue.

Hmm, I'm running Windows 8.1 on my Macbook Air, and I'm not able to reproduce 
this - Try uninstalling FLIP, then downloading the FLIP version that comes with 
an RTE included? I didn't have Java on my machine before, so I had to get the 
version packaged with the RTE, and it's at least loading up on my machine....

Did that, no luck i'm afraid...
I have 2 pc's running Win8.1, bot did not run Flip.
I just post a solution hat worked for me, hoping to help people experiencing 
issues.
