DTMF tones dial very slowly #772

What steps will reproduce the problem?

In any call, using the keypad has terrible latency between the key push and the 
DTMF calling.  Often the first number dialed isn't recognized I've determined 
in many IVR systems.  There is at least 750ms of latency between button push on 
screen and actual tone on call.

What version of the product are you using? On what device/operating system?

All versions since 1.5.  Nexus One running Eclair then Froyo.

Which SIP server are you using? What happens with PBXes?

PBXes.  Occurs using SipGate directly as well.

Which type of network are you using?

Happens over WiFi and 3G.

Please provide any additional information below.

Hm... at a cursory level this seems fixable by tuning PBXes.org settings.
