First Image Flashes then appears #164

Hi all,

I notice that this issue has been mentioned before but I couldn't find a 
solution.

I'm using the simplest cross fade implementation of the show which can be seen 
at http://jeanhutchison.com

Every time I refresh the page the first slide flashes in then plays it's normal 
"delay" time.

The longer the "duration", the longer the flash.

This happens in both FF 3.6 and IE 8

Any ideas appreciated?
