Ever since you mentioned this project on your podcast, I've really wanted to try it out. I think it's a really great idea! In the course of writing a nix package for it, I thought I saw some changes that would make it run a little smoother for me on OS X, and then I saw some ways to simplify the build process a bit, at the price of changing the default linux install location.
User-facing changes:
on linux, the symlink is now installed by default in /usr/local/bin
it can be installed anywhere with make install PREFIX=yadda
Main developer-facing changes:
only one Makefile
only one entrypoint script
I haven't tested the changes on linux yet but I strongly suspect they'd still work. And wow, kudos to guile for handling long shebangs.
