Do me mean a general function to follow redirects until you end up not being redirected?
Can you do me a favor and check if this is possible with the Facebook link (also please post an example here) using curl or another tool? Thanks
Hi joecks! Thanks for your response and looking into this!
An example article from from my facebook timeline is: https://www.facebook.com/348072501301/posts/10157053391021302/
So you can't really add this to Pocket because it'll just add the facebook placeholder to the pocket reading list.
The article itself is located at: https://www.xda-developers.com/facebook-lite-dark-mode-android/?fbclid=IwAR1qBTsGCvqOEjzCf31TN_KBF40dEiOO2IeD7dpENsk-nEEr8wDKrb-TAhE
So it'd be amazing if the Pocket action could resolve the facebook URL until it gets to where the article actually is to add it to the reading list properly.
Since Facebook removed the functionality to share articles straight to Pocket (replaced by their awful online only 'saved items' garbage) ... I've been awkwardly opening the article in a browser or the Facebook viewer to then share to Pocket or copying the link and saving to Pocket from the clipboard. This means actually downloading the article twice... One through Facebook or browser and then again through Pocket. And is generally just a pain.
The link that you can copy from the timeline is Facebook.com/123456... which you can save to Pocket but only takes you to the Facebook article placeholder and not the actual content.
Could there be an action to resolve the Facebook URL to where the actual article is to share that straight to Pocket?
The way I do it now involves a fair bit of clipboard copy pasting...
