What version of ftpii are you using?
0.0.20

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Run FTPii_v0.0.20 via HBC_v1.0.6.
2. Run FileZilla_v3.3.1, connect to Wii via Wi-Fi.
3. Listing SD/USB/DVD/ISFS works fine.
4. After some time the connection stops working with error:
FileZilla:
-520 Closing data connection, error occurred during transfer.
FTPii:
-Waiting for data connections...
-Timed out waiting for data connections.
-Wrote reply: 520 Closing data connection, error occurred during transfer.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
FileZilla:
-520 Closing data connection, error occurred during transfer.
FTPii:
-Waiting for data connections...
-Timed out waiting for data connections.
-Wrote reply: 520 Closing data connection, error occurred during transfer.

Please provide any additional information below.

Just the same problem with FTPii v0.0.21.
It used to work fine in the past though. Maybe some cIOS make this error happen
?

I solved this problem by installing the latest version of homebrew channel +
dvdx
support, using the hackmii installer (http://bootmii.org/download)
I don't know why, but now ftpii v0.0.21 works just fine !

Perhaps the connection is too slowly... I use it with Wifi and the acsess-point
is not close to the wii...
I installed the newest hackmii installer, but it didn't change anything...
I have the 4.3 Firmware on my Wii so i have to install cIOS...
Sry for my bad english^^

There's something about the removal of DVDX that seems to be breaking the
connection; as a workaround, I found an old HackMii installer, from which I
installed DVDX (leaving HBC at the current version), and loaded up FTPii, and
immediately got a connection with FileZilla.

The issue comes up after DVDX installation and removal.
Do U think a new DVDX installation with last hackmii installer can solve?

The problem is that System Menu 4.3 deletes DVDX. But I canæt understand why
this should need to break t operations with the sd card.

I miss my ftpii, it would be really nice if you could mak it work ithout dvdx.

I have 4.2 menu.
since hackmii 0.7 DVDX is not included in installer.
ideas?

Update: I find that dvdx was superseeded by HBC itself.
It means thah I have DVDX????
In this issue it doesn't work in ftpii, that's unable to ,ount dvd filesystems.
ftpii has definively stopped working after the two latest HBC updates.
No file transfer, no directory listing
only error 520....

I'm having the same issue. FTPii is useless now. Please fix it since it's the
only way I have to get files onto my SD card.

I had my FTPii working for about a week and yesterday it broke down and only
produces this error. I'm not quite sure why, cause I didn't run any HBC updates
or anything...

YOU MUST HAVE DVDX INSTALLED FOR FTPII TO WORK!!!!!!!! There is NO GETTING
AROUND THIS!!!! If you need the installer (it's no longer distributed) Google
"dvdx34.zip"

That can't be the solution, cause my FTPii was working without DVDX (MY first
HBC Version was 0.7, when DVDx was already written out) and even if it was
installed without my knowledge, I had not run any updates or even modified my
apps folder at all when it stopped working.
Also, the installer you uploaded doesn't work, at least with my 4.2E Wii.
Refuses to install its DVDx.
Hey Kurisamas, please lay off the caps and the yelling and the metric tons of
"!", even if you're right, and especially if you're wrong. And even if that had
been the solution, reliance on some outdated driver channel thingie is
something to be fixed.

I did get it to work earlier this day by putting in my Metroid Prime Trilogy
disc (PAL) trying to provoke something like "failed to read disc please get
DVDx", but it's been working ever since, even without a disc. I don't know if
that actually helped or if that was just coincidence or maybe divine
intervention, but you might try putting in some games before running FTPii.
Maybe you have to run it one time empty and then with a disc, maybe it has to
be a dual layer, maybe that exact disk.
Would be nice if some else could experiment with discs, since the problem is
gone for me, at least for now.

EDIT: BTW, I could NOT read the disc, "failed to mount filesystem". Don't know
if thats normal for game discs or if that has to be reprogrammed for use with
the HBC DVDx replacement.

ccording to this: http://forum.wiibrew.org/read.php?17,57188,57188 it should be
very easy to fix by just changing to the correct (new) title ID for HBC. Too
bad ftpii isn't maintained anymore, this totally breaks the app for anyone on
4.2

I was also able to fix this problem by installing DVDX with version 0.6 of the
hackmii installer I managed to find @ http://www.megaupload.com/?d=AW9DSA9H

This will not work for anyone using System Menu 4.3 as it will delete DVDX.

FlashFXP was able to access ftpii in active mode. I could not get FileZilla to
do the same. If ftpii needs a small change as suggested, it's open source, we
just need someone to make the changes and recompile it.

filezilla with ftpii 0.0.19 is working with hbc 1.0.8 and system menu 4.3

problem is that it wont write to a FAT32 formatted USB HDD, works fine with SD
though

to add to my comment, FlashFXP connects, but only because its trying passive
mode, fails, then succeeds wuth active mode. filezilla can connect if you
manually set it to use active mode, it dies do a good job of failing over to
active mode like FlashFXP does

in these cases, though, it doesnt see my FAT32 formatted USB HDD at all.
perhaps it will see a NTFS formatted USB HDD?

I had the same error. Manually setting FileZilla to active mode fixed it. I had
to back out of FTPii, restart the app, then I could reconnect. No clue why, but
it worked just fine.

I had this problem a few times and I believe it was due to an original wii disc
being in the drive. After removing it, it seems to be working fine.

Setting FileZilla to Active Mode under Settings > FTP fixed this problem on Wii
