ftpii dow not wake up a sleeping USB drive

What version of ftpii are you using?
0.0.20

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Starting ftpii with no other previous application that started the USB drive
2.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected - USB drive to wind up
Actual - USB drive stays in sleep mode

Please provide any additional information below.

I have a USB drive that sleeps when it is inactive for a period of time
(user configurable).
ftpii is the only application that I have used that does NOT spin up the
drive but says that the drive cannot be mounted.
Mplayer CE wakes up the drive
uLoader has 1 or 2 retries then wakes up the drive
Configurable USB loader wakes up the drive.

This can be resolved by running another application to wake up the drive
and then exit and then run ftpii. Inconvenient.

I have also posted some further information on performance issues.

Sorry - just to add - FAT32 drive and ftpii works perfectly other than 
performance,
once the drive is spinning. With a different drive that does not sleep, it 
mounts the
drive immediately
