Not mounting portable USB hard drive #91

Using a WD 500G portable hard drive (WDBAAR5000ABK-NESN). Currently using
ftpii version .21, but wasn't mounting in .20 either. Thought it wasn't
mounting originally since it was formatted in NTFS, but even with NTFS
implemented in .21 it's not mounting, so maybe it's not a NTFS issue.

The drive isn't sleeping (I don't think it actually does sleep) and when
trying to mount, I see the hard drive light flashing like it's accessing
the drive, but then will show the mount failed. Tried remounting several
times but just doesn't take. Have not had problems with other apps
accessing the drive, only ftpii, so not sure where the problem lies.

Not a huge deal since I mostly use ftpii to access the SD (which works
great), but would be nice to have it read the drive as well. Thanks.

You can mark this as fixed. Had to unplug the usb cable/drive from the wii for
an
unrelated issue, but noticed that ever since reconnecting it, ftpii
successfully
mounts the drive fine now.

im having the same problem, but the back of my wii is hard to get to, and i
wanted to
be sure before i go digging around. does ftpii need the drive to be plugged
into a
specific usb port? mplayer_ce can read the drive just fine, theres no other
partitions
on it, and im using the latest version of ftpii

update: i dug out the back of my wii, and plugged the drive into the other usb
port,
but i still have the same exact problem. the drive only has one primary ntfs
partition, and i checked, it is active and configured properly

Got 120Gb Seagate portable Plugged into Outer USB port, Works fine under WBFS.

On mounting USB Drive it does not appear to cause any disk activity.
RE- mounting does the same.

AS someone above said, I also mainly use this to Access the Front SD card slot,
Which
works a treat.

Thanks for such a great app / wiiware :D

I am having the same problem with my USB HDD. It failed to mount the drive. I'm
using a WBFS partition, is this the problem? This drive works grate with my USB
loader but will not mount.

When will this be addressed?
