Now that the /styles/ directory no longer needs to maintain permanent compatibility, I need to streamline all those stylesheets.

[x] Stylesheets should only contain the necessary styles for overriding default styles.
[x] Style variables should be used in reset, so that custom stylesheets override them.

OK. This is basically done. There will be polishing, but that can go in new tickets as needed.
