10 years ago should all be set up as needed, no need to change these settings. best if you do not touch this interface at all.
the important ones:
- dtrans - rotates data out of dtransactions and into trans_archive, dlog_15, etc...
- batch update - update sales + price changes
- SPINS - automated weekly data submission
- virtual coupons (nightly + monthly) - does all the MAD stuff: updates Coup count for members who used their MAD, resets each month, etc.
- clean lane - empties localtrans_today on the lanes to keep them from slowing down after a lot of data has accrued
- tablecache - really only useful in our case for the Cashier Performance Rpt.
- lanesync - pushes updated sales, memdata, etc. to the lanes overnight
there might be a couple others, i'm doing this from memory...
review and decide.
