10% discount day remodel

o The new benefit would begin on January 1, 2014.

o The monthly 10% discount would be for Active MOs only

o The monthly 10% discount could be applied only once per month, and once per MO share.

o This discount benefit would be applied at the register, through the POS.

o 10% discounts that are not redeemed within a calendar month do not roll over to the next

month, they expire.

o The 10% off discount could be used in conjunction with the Special Order discounts, (if the

special order gets a case discount; some items do not).

o The 10% discount benefit comes out of the Marketing and Membership Discount budget,

just as 10% off days and postcards do now.

This may be embedded in the code already, but the patronage on button will need to allow for the 10% discount to be activated if an onhold member-owner makes an investment during the transaction in which the 10% discount is desired.

This shows as 'Store Coupon'. This should say 'Member Appreciation Discount' on the display and receipt. Also, it is allowing me to use it more than once.

Hmmmnnn....I was thinking that with the limit set to '1' that meant one transaction. Will the GUI allow for this to happen all day for a member number?

It would be very helpful if there were an icon which represented this discount on the POS display. A visual key for the cashier to know whether or not the discount has been applied yet. The cashier could than remind the member to use the discount. A good location would be next to the green/red dot. While not necessary for the rollout, this will be a nice feature.

The 'MAD' key on the keyboard should initiate the discount.

In regard to the ability to use the MAD discount on a day in which a member has just re-invested and re-activated their share....Maybe the ‘patronage on’ button be used to enable the discount for a member who is on hold and wanting to ‘reactivate’ their share.

Updates:

• now says "Member Appreciation Discount 10%"
• will only apply once per transaction
• can be used 1 day each month (coupon usage is processed overnight, so a customer can come back in later that same day and rcv. the discount again, the benefit in terms of customer svc. should hopefully outweigh any abuse caused by this behavior)
• automatically resets itself at the start of each month.
• The MAD key on the KB will trigger this discount (button needs to be re-programmed as 49999900001{ENTER} )
• i've proposed the "icon" suggestion to the dev team. unknown at this point when it'll be in production, so for now we'll stick with the blueLine method "Coup(1)". NOTE: feel free to propose some other textual indicator if you prefer.
