Previous session tabs shown under new session window #81

Open PowerWeb5 opened 4 years ago

Whenever I close the browser I still see the tabs from the previous session shown under the new window. This is despite my having set the browser to only open 1 "New Tab" page tab on startup (not open previous tabs). And I did not do any kind of restart.

Screenshot

Like seen in the below screenshot, even though no such tabs appear

As seen there, there are 3 LinkedIn tabs shown in Sidewise but only 1 shown in the browser tab bar (where I entered LinkedIn.com into the 1 new tab that had opened). Therefore, there are 2 extra tabs leftover from the previous session.

For some reason, I don't see "old closed window sessions" shown at the top of Sidebar where I used to see many of them that just keep piling up when I first installed the extension (which was annoying and I wanted to get rid of) at least until I began adjusting settings. Now I can't seem to get those closed sessions to show up again the same way.

Recently closed view Screenshot

Now I only see tabs from previous sessions under "Recently closed" Sidewise view mode tab, like in the below screenshot (taken after enabling diagnostics). image

And I don't see any way to restore an entire window session there either? Is there supposed to be a root Window/Session node can click on in the Recently closed view mode? Maybe the tabs are getting shown under the new/active Window grouping instead of under a Closed Window grouping?

Settings Tried

This occurs regardless of the settings I choose for: "Tree remembers open tabs between browser sessions" on or off

With every possible combination of settings (and then closing browser and then reopening to test each combination), I still see the same issue, with the previously opened tabs showing up as hibernated tabs under the current window in Sidewise event though they don't exist in the new windows tabbar.

If relevant, I do have Chrome background apps running (in case for some reason Sidewise doesn't consider it a full restart?) though it seemed like all msedge.exe processes exited before opening again (with exception of one for the background-running authorized extensions).

How can I hide, show or limit the max # of "Closed Window sessions" shown collapsed above the current window when I open the browser again?

Diagnostics

I am submitting a diagnostic report where I will reference this issue # in its description.
