I've consistently been getting a black screen as my new tab background. Upon investigation, the request to the Unsplash API is failing with a 403 error, and the message "Ratelimit exceeded".
Other than contacting Unsplash to increase this limit, I'm not sure there's much this project can do about this error (maybe Dynamic client registration would be relevant?). As a workaround, an option for users to specify their own API key might be helpful.
