I think for now we should think about genre only as it affects the code, until
we get
a feel for the engine we (hopefully) will have. There are differences between
an rpg
and an rts, but more so differences between a game with 2d graphics vs 3d
graphics,
or a 3d graphics game from an fps view vs one with a roving camera or something.
we know the game will be multiplayer - will it be singleplayer too? (if we need
ai or
not).
will our engine be able to support real-time graphics, for any genre? or will
it be
better for pre-rendered/turn based type things.
sorry these questions are a little vague.
