This comes from a user that noted an AHU got 24/7 schedules when upgrading to 2.1. Per review by JP:
This is a school model, but there is one mechanical room on a separate floor by itself. Since we exclude mechanical rooms from predominant calculations, no area is used in the calculation and we assume “office” for that case. All spaces are in one story and assigned with the school schedules. So, when a multi-zone system, AHU-1 in this case, serves these school spaces and the mechanical room which is assigned with the office schedules AHU-1 has to run 24/7 to cover all loads.
The workaround is to move the Mechanical room to the same story as all other spaces, so it will be assigned with the same schedules and not trigger the 24/7 HVAC availability schedule.
For the next release, we should come up with a better way to inform the user that this is happening and provide them guidance to avoid the penalties.
