When using jwm 2.4.2 i noticed there's a strange screen flash when you close or minimize a black terminal window.
It's most visible when you have all other windows minimized (or no other windows open), and the terminal window maximized. If you then click on the task list button of the terminal window repeatedly, then you will notice a blue 'Z' appearing for a few milliseconds, then it disappears again. Well, it's not a 'Z' of course, but that's the closest I can make of it. I don't know what is causing this behavior, but I guess it was less of an issue in for example 2.3.7. I could not make a screenshot of it, because it disappears very fast. I don't know if this can be solved easily, but it's a bit annoying nevertheless. I'm on debian 11.3.
