Corner plots & KDE edge fix

The main goal of this PR is to add the long-requested corner plot.

Doing so in a speedy way required two changes:

• rewriting the class hierarchy of the plotting to make caching the 2D and 1D PDFs easy.
• switching to the alternative KDE method by default, which is faster and more accurate.
