8.75. firmware 98.0.18
i cant test headset passive mode on my pc coz my "3.5mm 4-pole to mic/stereo splitter adapter" doesnt support the headset mode "Toggle the switch to the headset position to use the headset microphone" mode (or the mic on/off switch). no matter what (even when unpluggin the headset) the wire mic is always on. the 4-pole functions work on my phone but the point is to test my pc http://support.logitech.com/en_at/article/Connect-the-G933-gaming-headset-to-compatible-devices
havent used the mic in any other app. ill try to get my google friends to use skype with me to test my problem
windows was installed clean from usb a few days ago. nothing else on it. no audio stuff or anything else
ill test with closing lgs. uninstalling it. passive mode on phone. in skype. ill report back
when opening "Recording devices" i got this message "Audio Enhancements Problem" "Microphone (Logitech G933 Gaming Headset)" "disable driver enhancements for this device?" i selected Yes. ill report back if the problem still happens Capture.PNG
it doesn't disable anything visible. what does it disable? the capture apo? how do i re-enable? "Automatic noise removal" is still enabled after i selected Yes. is the capture apo permanently disabled? is the ANR permanently gone? despite it being checked Capture.PNG
so far i've tested
pressing Yes to "disable Driver Enhancements", doesn't solve it disable "Automatic noise removal", doesn't solve it Exit LGS, doesn't solve it clean windows installation on my laptop, with LGS installed, same "Driver Enhancements" error box, same hangouts error turning the headset off an on again doesn't solve it, only refreshing (F5) the hangout window does. it also doesn't matter if the headset falls asleep (coz im in a test hangout with myself with no one talking for 5 min). this suggest it's a software error rather than a faulty headset. whatever the headset does, sleep, power off, after 30 min the pc keep sending broken mic audio until the hangout window is refreshed when timing the error it happened after exactly 30 minutes in the hangout, or within one or two minutes of that, like if some code loop fails to clear something and instead builds it up steadily until it overflows it's probably not hangouts fault because, google would have noticed, i've had no experience of hangouts doing this when using a corsair headset for 2 years. unless google hasn't tested hangouts with the new logitech capture apo or any capture apo the headset boom mic works on my phone with the included 4-pole connector, for at least 45 minutes, well beyond the 30 min limit on the pc, indicating it's not a faulty headset it doesn't matter if it's charging while used or not uninstalling LGS solves it, it works for at least 45 minutes then. i dont understand why. i suspected the new capture apo. but it seems to still be installed even after LGS is uninstalled. the mic still have an Effects tab, and there's still a Capture\CLSID\FxProperties key with the "Logitech Microphone Noise Reduction" apo and a CaptureAPO.dll file
im discouraged by the fact that a clean from usb windows 10 installation https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 on my laptop behaves the same way. that means this probably happens for all pcs. how is that possible? my installation "Time and currency format" is English (Canada). "Keyboard or input method" is Swedish. everything else should be what u have tested. "Language to install" is English (United States). is my headset faulty? should i replace it? i have only a few days left on my 14 days return right. and it's a lot of trouble if it's not a hardware fault
can i bother u to ask one of your testers to reply directly to this post? or through u if that's not possible. to advice me about replacing it or not. i live rurally and rely on hangouts and cant put up with this problem
coz its new the capture apo is prime suspect. its CLSID is
