DTMF button switches audio playback from handset to speaker #61

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Initiate call
2. Press menu button
3. Choose "Send DTMF"

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
When pressing the "Send DTMF" button, audio output is switched from the
handset speaker (on the front of the device) to the additional speaker (on
the back of the device).
Obviously, the expected behaviour would be playback remaining on the same
speaker.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Sipdroid 0.9.8 apk from website
Cupcake / Android 1.5 (German)
T-Mobile G1

This behavior was intended because you can't have the handset at the ear while
pressing
DTMF buttons ;-)

I see your point.

However, it is a bit awkward when you are in public i.e. checking your
voicemail, and
suddenly audio is played back loudly via the speaker.
When I have to input numbers via DTMF, I usually don't need to hear the audio
output at
the same time.

I would find it useful to have an option to turn this feature off.

You are right. I have taken the automatism out for DTMF.
