What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Searched for Paris Hilton on www.google.com
2. Call the ajax search from java programatically (used the code snippet in
the developer's guide)

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The number of results in step 1 and estimatedResultCount in step 2 differ
by a huge number.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
OS is Windows XP.

Please provide any additional information below.

This issue and Issue 360 seem to be related - there seem to be problems
generating
the last page of results in a variety of circumstances. I agree with all the
other
posters - this really needs to be fixed.

I'm not sure that this is a bug. Google have an agenda, I'm sure.

Has anyone discovered a fix for this? I just built a jQuery plugin that uses
the Google AJAX API and now I run into this and it looks like a bug in my code
when it's actually Google's fault.

I agree to comment #56. When you read #49 along with this, it makes sense .

The Estimated Result Count is just that - it's an estimate of the number of
results available. Due to the nature of calculation, this estimate is not
stable, and can change from request to request, mimicking the similar count on
google.com.
