I didn't get the results I liked with Matter.js. There also seems to be an issue with objects losing energy during elastic collisions: https://github.com/liabru/matter-js/issues/256.
I'll leave this task open but tag it as wontfix
in case I decide to come back to this later. I'm still curious to see if Matter.js will improve performance on the deployed version.
As my physics needs become more complex, it will be easier to use a physics library/engine than writing everything myself. The library might also be more performant.
