faq.md has instructions for installing custom themes when you install foliate with native package manager or flatpak but not for snap version.
I had to put the JSON file here and there to finally settle with the location /home/user/snap/foliate/1818/.config/com.github.johnfactotum.Foliate/themes. I think it is convenient to include this in faq.
