Just an idea that came to me. Research center's effects will be a bit different. When it's not in progress of a research, you can click on one of the available researches to initiate the process. Completing a research requires some effort over a few days. The required light sequence will be different day by day. If you succeed activating the research center consistently for required number of days, the effect will be triggered and you will be able to initiate another research. You should also be able to cancel a research in progress.
