Website Redesign

Just checked our Twitter account and saw we already have 1000+ followers! :)

Anyway, any updates regarding the new layout being created by @davidnknight and Matt?

Nothing new since the blue designs that I sent via email to everyone a couple of weeks back. Will get back on it this week, I don't think there's a huge amount to do. Should we list out what's needed here?

• [ ] Members Page (Archive)
• [ ] Member Profile
• [ ] Dashboard - We're splitting this back up again right rather than combining starred and my snippets?

Admin Panel:

what do you suggest?

We design it from scratch or get one admin theme from the web ?

Personally I'd design it from scratch. At least we can say that all the design has been made by david & his team.

I'm kinda proud of it :D

More than happy to design from scratch but we would need something to base it on, just like we have with the site. Have you managed to start the admin panel yet?

I got a full time job now. I'm working 9 - 10 hours per day. when I get back home I'm tired like hell.

I will start it eventually, but in the meanwhile if anyone starts working on it i'll be more than happy.

Do we have any planned structure for the admin panel? The pages for example?

• Dashboard ?
• Users -- List -- Edit -- Delete?
• Snippets -- List -- Edit -- Add -- Delete -- Approve -- Unapprove ...

Yup, just like you said.

Dashboard: Very simple, 4 "cards" displaying: number of unapproved snippets, number of total snippets, number of total users, and number of total unactivated users. Maybe some graphics with some statistics and lately traffic. Users: list, CRUD, add to admin list Snippets: CRUD, list of unapproved ones

• yes it would be better to split the two. Also makes it easier to implement pagination.

Kindly update us on the progress of the new designs. Once the designs are done, we can all work together to implement it, we just need someone to create the base template.

I haven't looked at how we're doing pagination but this video shows how ridiculously simple it is to implement as many paginations as we need on a page: https://laracasts.com/lessons/crazy-simple-pagination

Really love the designs! :) Excited to see this implemented on the site, and then we can just focus on reviewing all the current and future snippets and also submit our own! :)

Yes, I think you should, the remaining pages won't look bad, they'll still look tidy enough short term whilst Matt and I finish up the other pages. As you say, at least it will provide a bit of momentum which I think is needed. =)

I guess all of us have been really busy lately. Hehe. Anyway, thanks for the initiative @davidnknight , really excited to see the new template get started to be implemented. If you can implement at least the base template, then it will be a good starting point so all of us can also help implement the other pages/features.
