Could it be made even simpler? #58

Would it be possible to make a program that just do two simple things and at 
the same time one could use iTunes as player:

1) Automatic sample rate switching

2) Audio Device exclusive access mode

That would be a real simple audiphile player. Why Apple hasn't implemented this 
in iTunes is something I just don't understand.
