Intel NCS2 on Windows Low Power Devices #135

We would like to know if there are any current plans to get the intel NCS2 working with windows devices? It seems there is on-going work with rpi boards. We would be interested in assisting or discussing how this could get done.

Hello @t3therdev . We have had a previous version of DeepStack RPI that worked with the NCS2, however, we don't have any short term plans for ncs2 support. We would love to know your specific need. You mentioned Windows Low Power Devices, do you have a specific type of windows device in mind?

Hi @johnolafenwa thanks for your reply. We have many applications using Intel Atom x7-e3950 and similar low power (~12W) cpu's. These cpu's have intel quicksync but don't have enough cpu to do openvino tasks, like a full blown i5/i7. It would be great to be able to add the intel NCS2 to these systems. These types of low power cpu are also in use by many maker boards such as the UP Board, Udoo, lattepanda, etc. I think having support for Windows NCS2 would greatly increaes the audience of end users, much like adding rpi support.

Thanks for the details @t3therdev . We understand the need for this. While we can't give a definite timeline of when support for this would come, in the next couple of months, we would make updates to address this.

I know a lot of people, including me, that are using RPI with NCS2 and, defenetelly will appreciate further support for it. CPU version of Deepstack consumes a lot of CPU that makes it not so reliable.

Hello all, I'm agree with you, I have a NCS2 with my pi, but I can't use with, because he asked me a api key. Since deepstack is free, i'm waited for an update. Thanks in advance !!!

can I clarify - Ive just purchased a NCS2 for use with deepstack on my pi, have I made a mistake?

Hi @johnolafenwa is this project still active? We are interested in using it, but it hasn't had any updates for almost 9 months. Can you let us know if its still something you and your team are working on?

I have used it few months back and hit an issue for which we never got any response from dev team or community. We ultimately switched to other solution. I recommend you to try it out first and then plan to use it. If it's critical for you to get support and move faster, look something else.
