Team A8:

Karthik I was a bit confused by how you can compete with others. Can the same areas be infected by the same player? Things of this nature where a bit confusing to me. I did like the idea as a whole. This sort of expands on the pandemic mobile game by making it more in depth and closer to the maps.

Danny I was confused on who you play with game with. If you are infecting other people how will other people combat you trying to infect them? Also this is a really passive game, so is it meant to be passive? Or is there some sort of engagement to it?

Hon I was confused by the main gameplay mechanics of the game. By choosing different viruses(teams) how exactly do you combat other players? If the point of the game is to stay away from other players how do you give other people your virus? If you did give people your virus do they join your team? What if they dont want to. This game seems very similar to pokemon GO, which was a game developed by a team of very experienced game programmers with over a year time and a large budget. That game still came out as a mess. How will this be done decently in 6 weeks.

Robert I was confused by the diversity in the game. Are the viruses like "pokemons" is the point trying to collect them? It seems the point is to infect other people, it seems that the features of this app are a bit complicated given the amount of time. How will each virus group differ? Or are they just basically teams with different color? How will the infection happen? Do you get into the a Area of Effect of the other player? Is there a combat system? Perhaps the app could be simplified to allow for more flushed out features.

Ashley I was confused by how do people infect each other. When 2 users are in each others’ infection zone, does one type of virus overpowers an infects the other? Or do they infect each other? It might be cool to have virus types that have advantages and disadvantages. That way people can hunt and attack certain viruses, but have to run away from others! Also, I really liked the idea of having the chance to personalize your virus!!

Michael I was confused by how other players affect the spread rate of your virus. Would they slow it down/speed it up depending on their stats? In addition, how would a user’s location affect transmission rate? Does more distance traveled automatically mean higher raw transmission numbers? Would spending a lot of time in an area mean a higher percentage for that given area? Would immunities be built up to your virus over time?

Scott I was confused by how the stats would affect the gameplay. As in, would a higher life mean that it takes longer for you to be infected or perhaps that you could be withstand multiple infections? Also, I was somewhat confused by the infection rate. Would a high infection rate mean that you would infect other nearby players more often, or that you can infect players in a larger radius? I like the idea a lot though! I think that this could replace the assassin game that some organizations on campus play.

Tina I was confused by the different designs for a user’s “virus”. Is it just for a user to have their own personalized virus avatar? Are the differences between viruses just aesthetic, or do they actually have different stats that affect how the virus will behave? (Overall, it seems like a cool game idea! However, it may be difficult to implement so many different components of the app in the time we are given for the project.)
