https://rust-atelier.dev/ and https://www.rust-atelier.dev/ both give GitHub 404 error pages.
Using the standard repository GitHub Pages URL works fine: https://johnstonskj.github.io/rust-atelier/, although it redirects to https://simonkjohnston.life/rust-atelier/, presumably because of the CNAME in your johnstonskj/johnstonskj.github.io repo.

There are issues serving different apex domains and www redirects from GitHub Pages. See https://docs.github.com/en/pages/configuring-a-custom-domain-for-your-github-pages-site/about-custom-domains-and-github-pages for discussion. (I went down this rabbit hole, myself, only a few days ago.)
