Feature request: Save multiple file patterns in external file #24

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
As mentioned in issue 22, I quite often search using certain multiple file
patterns.

Currently, the file patterns are just saved in memory, and not saved in the
config.xml. So if I restart Gedit, I have to re-enter the patterns.

Could you please save the history of file patterns in an external file, and
load them back into memory when restart? Thanks.

Thanks for adding this feature. However, when upgraded to 3.1.0beta, the
shortcut key Ctrl-Shift-F doesn't work, and there was no advancedfind items in
Gedit menu. So I cannot activate advancedfind at all. I have to revert back to
the old version. Could you please check? Thanks.

It works fine in my computer. Please remove old version completely and install
v3.1.0beta again. Make sure you are using gedit3.x, because v3.1.0beta is for
gedit3.x only. The latest version for gedit2.x is v2.1.1.

When I reported the failure, I already removed the old version completely and
installed v3.1.0beta. I'm running ArchLinux, kernel 3.0.2-1, Gedit 3.0.6.

Go to gedit plugin manager and make sure that advanced-find is checked. If
still having problem, run gedit in terminal and post the message it's shown
while gedit initialize and while you press ctrl-shift-f.

After I reboot, now ctrl-shift-f works. Thanks.

However, now performance issue #23 seems more prominent. Hopefully you can deal
with it soon.
