High CPU usage #117

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
I'm not exactly sure what triggers this yet but every once in a while, the
program will suddenly start using 100% of my CPU, most of which will be
shown as "system" time by my CPU meter. The odd thing is that it still
seems to run normally in this state - it seems fully responsive during
these event, showing the server and torrent info, etc.

Closing the program via the "Torrent" menu and restarting is sufficient to
recover from this.

It seems like starting and stopping a torrent manually a couple of times
might be enough to trigger this. Don't ask why :-) but one of the torrents
I was messing with had no active peers at the time.

Forgot to mention: This is Ubuntu 9.04 ("Jaunty") with XFCE 4.6.0, using
TransGUI
v1.1 from your official build.

Somehow it actually got worse in 1.2. Seeing 80-94% usage at all times, even
just
60sec after startup. It is very responsive, but it is chewing up cpu cycles.

This is on a Debian 5 system with Gnome.

It is Lazarus issue. You should try to build transgui by the latest trunk
versions of
Lazarus...
