Scenario #21, 3 Players - Boss Action Issue #71

In scenario 21, when playing with 3 players, boss specials 1 and 2 have different effects (special 1 summons an elite and special 2 summons a normal).

There does not appear to be a way to distinguish between the two at the moment.

How we approached the specials is just giving keywords, instead of writing the whole text in the Scenario book. Otherwise, most special abilities won't fit. And... we don't keep track of the number of players. We can try to change the card so it'll say: (Special 1) 1-2P: Throne moves 3-4P: Summon elite Demon

(Special 2) Summon Demon.

Will that make things better? We really encourage people to have the scenario book handy to read the different special skills. If you want that, could you please confirm which are the skills in the different scenarios? I personally don't have the game handy.

Sorry I wasn't really clear. I agreed that trying to include text from the scenario book is going way too far.

In this case it would be more than sufficient to do something like: Throne Moves Summon Demon (Special 1)

That one extra line would give the players all of the information that they need to know what level of demon to summon as per the scenario book.

As far as I can tell, this boss is the only one that this type of addition is needed for, since it is the only one where the descriptions on the stat card for the two special actions are identical. Even if other scenarios have additional special actions in the scenario rules for specials 1 and 2, it is always possible to determine which special was drawn for every other boss.

(Technically, if the players are familiar enough with the boss deck, they may be aware that initiative values of around 15 mean Special 2, and initiative values in the 70-80 range mean Special 1, so it is possible to determine which special was drawn in any case, which is what our group did)
